Somos CLU

Whitman Suárez

My fascination with language acquisition has shaped my entire professional journey. I’ve worked as a teacher, language coach, researcher, entrepreneur, and education leader for more than 20 years, specializing in how the bilingual brain works and how learning processes can be optimized.

At CLU, I help learners overcome fear, build confidence, and develop the ability to communicate effectively and authentically in another language. I firmly believe that everyone can acquire a second language with the right guidance, consistent action, and a personalized plan. I’ve had the privilege of supporting more than 1,000 learners, from beginners exploring a new language to CEOs using a second language to expand their businesses.

Outside of my work, I enjoy playing soccer, biking, and exploring new
technologies.

Diana Pedraza

I’m a linguist and philologist with dual Master’s degrees in Linguistics and Teaching as a Second Language. My academic and professional path has focused on understanding how languages are acquired and processed in bilingual and multilingual minds, both in children and adults.
At CLU, I design and guide language coaching experiences that go beyond traditional instruction. I help learners unlock their voice in another language by building confidence, self-awareness, and strategies that align with how they think, learn, and communicate best. My goal is for each student to feel empowered, clear, and authentic when using a second language in real-life
contexts.
When I’m not coaching or researching language acquisition, I enjoy healthy cooking, dancing, singing, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.

I hold a degree in Bilingual Education and have experience coaching
teenagers and adults from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. I
consider myself a lifelong learner, tech-savvy, creative, and deeply interested
in how people use language to express ideas, emotions, and identity.
Having grown up bilingual, I understand first-hand how language shapes
the way we communicate and connect with the world. At CLU, I help
learners develop practical, goal-oriented communication skills, whether for
executive presentations, construction-related contexts, or job interviews. I
believe language learning is a lifelong process, and the more we use a
language, the more confidently we can express who we are.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, singing, voice acting, spending
time in nature, and playing video games. I look forward to coaching you in
your language learning journey.

Miguel Climaco

I’m a Canadian native English speaker with a deep love for language and for
sharing North American culture through meaningful communication.
Teaching allows me to connect with people, build long-lasting relationships,
and support learners as they grow in confidence and clarity in English.
At CLU, I work closely with Spanish speakers, particularly those preparing for
academic pathways or international experiences. Having supported many
Latin American learners on life-changing journeys abroad, I’ve seen
first-hand how the right guidance, committed coaching, and a
human-centered program can make a decisive difference in their
experience.
Professionally, my career in Colombia has allowed me to grow from teacher
to coordinator, and eventually to founder and director of my own language
academy. I’m currently developing a new project that brings locals and
foreigners together in a relaxed, real-world setting where language is
practiced naturally and authentically.
Beyond the classroom, I have a wide range of interests that shape who I
am—let’s just say I’m a bit of a multi-layered onion. I look forward to meeting
you and supporting your English learning journey.
